New Designers 2012... See you there!

Well today has been very exciting indeed, the New Designers selection was revealed and i feel so privileged that I have been chosen to exhibit! Sadly not everybody will be able to display their work as there is a limited amount of places, I am really pleased and in shock still I think! I feel so lucky to be given this opportunity to be apart of New Designers. My work and the work of my coursemates that are going will be on display as part 1 of the exhibition which runs from the 27th till the 30th of June.

Too busy to blog?

With our FMP deadline getting closer and closer, I'm finding it harder to find the time to keep blogging in between all the drawing and designing I'm having to do. Sorry for being a rubbish blogger!! I thought I'd share a picture of my current work in progress, hopefully when it comes to my hand in I'll be 100% happy with my work and I'll have mountains of designs (ha!). Until then it's many late nights at uni with hot chocolate to get me through the hours on end staring at a computer.  X 

Jamie Hewlett for Absolut

At tesco today, I spotted these Limited Edition design special Absolut Vodka bottles by comic book artist Jamie Hewlett, who is most well known for his Gorillaz artworks. Jamie's designs for Absolute feature london scenes in his quirky illustrative style. With the 2012 Olympics just around the corner I suspect that many designers and companies will be looking towards the capital for their inspiration. 

Absolut have always collaborated with designers and artists to create some really special limited edition bottles..... and it tastes pretty good too!

Moschino for Coca-Cola

Just stumbled across these beauties, Coca-Cola light bottles designed by  Moschino. I LOVE the pink one with the bow around the neck, so so cute!

Business Card Design!

My good friend and graphic designer, Brady Miller has very kindly offered to design my business cards! I thought I'd share with you the basic ideas that we came up with together for my designs. It's very handy having a graphic designer friend indeed, she's come up with ideas such as using foils and spot varnishes and knows so much about fonts and layouts! Brady is also a studying at Leeds College of Art and we'll both be graduating together this november... these past 3 years have flown by and it seems like only yesterday we were both moving into our student halls.

Twitter!

I've only recently set up a twitter account, and have been finding it really useful as a tool to find out about competitions, events and designers! There's also all sorts of creative jobs posted on twitter, and lots of companies and designers that I'm interested in have accounts, aswell as my course mates, so it could be quite handy!
